Hellbaby

I'm not a fan of the early months of a new year, so I tend to lock myself away from the dark and cold and concentrate on new material.

Since producing Spock and Sigourney Weaver in an old masters style, I’ve struggled to find something that followed suit, so I put my head down, watched a few old favourite films for research and surprisingly, somehow, released Hellboy in the Baroque period. The original painting that gave inspiration came from The Assumption of the Virgin by Nicolas Poussin – I particularly liked the clouds and the tomb. Add a few tentacles grabbing at the cherubs and the Baroque birth of Hellboy was complete.
I’m hoping that Guillermo del Toro would approve.
